1948 Dodge WDX

The civilian version of the famous Power Wagon.

It’s not that heavy; but for a time, it was the heaviest iron in the pile.   This particular unit has front and rear PTO drives, with a Braden winch up front, and a flat belt pulley out back.  The pulley and rear shafting has been removed (and stored) in favor of a tow hitch.  The crown gear in the winch is stripped.

75 huge horsepower from the flathead 6.

Sleeping with the swedes.

The windshield was originally held in place with bondo.  The parts truck (I needed the engine) had a decent frame and winder assembly.

When the F350 dumper came on the scene, the WDX saw less use, and has been parked, awaiting a brake overhaul.
