01From the Beginning…

It helps to start with a nice fresh chassis.  This is a rust free 1973 with defunct L-Jetronic B motor.  Original paint, too.  Unfortunately, the owner entered into a rather sordid affair with POR-15, and when it had run its course, the car was completely covered with rust converter…

One of the reasons to go with the 16v Turbo is, well, more power.  You can get quite a bit from an almost stock motor without spending a fortune on exotic parts.  Match porting actually makes a tangible difference.  Combine this with a Borla muffler, a K&N air filter, and the ‘red’ APC controller, and you will have more GO than you know what to do with.

The two builds I have done used stock fuel pumps, stock injectors, stock turbochargers, and had more than enough power to spin the tires in second gear.  If your car is to drive, rather than just look at, spend money in the right places.
